To help me understand an organization’s business quickly, I use a question I learned from a client. The question is ‘what are the 1 or 2 things you do exceptionally well?’
Sourcing business deals and simplifying processes is an example of an answer I’ve heard before.
You may not believe your organization does anything special, but your answer is the organization’s intellectual property, or IP. This IP is the reason for the majority of your success and you should have a strategy for its growth in your strategic plan.
What is your IP strategy?
When you know the 1 or 2 things you do exceptionally well, it helps you focus your efforts, keep your business simpler and increase the probability of quality, successful growth.
