Group Coaching

If you are familiar with executive coaching, then you know you will have access to an executive coach in a coaching group. In addition, you have access to a like-minded group of peers focused on achieving the same thing you are and access to subject matter experts you normally could not reach. That’s the value of a coaching group.

Don't miss our video on Group Coaching in the downloads on the right.

An example of a CUSTOMIZED COACHING GROUP:

The name of the group is called the “Thought Leadership Group.”

Participation in the group is earned by a candidate’s past history of thought leadership. The group(s) consists of participants from across business units and from the same city.

OBJECTIVES OF THE GROUP

  • Increase the amount of daylight in the firm and the ability to see more high-performers
  • Conversely, increase the group participants’ ability to see the firm with new eyes
  • Construct and install a continual process for harvesting the ideas of those team members with 5-10 years of experience

MEASUREMENTS:

  • Participants engage in the group regularly
  • Participants write a “future pace” letter to themselves to capture what success will look like for them from having participated in the group (and hold themselves accountable) – subjective measurement
  • Using a 10 point scale, participants will self-score themselves in 10 areas related to job performance before and after group participation – objective measurement

VALUE

  • Minimize threat of losing “stars” that are currently “under the radar”
  • Meaningful progress on the dissolution of the silo walls that exist at some level between the different business units
  • *** Teach/Reinforce proactive leadership that you expect from future middle managers (retraining middle managers to be proactive instead of reactive is also an objective)

METHOD

Group visits 2x/month by telephone for an hour, use “A Whole New Mind” by Daniel Pink as our “text book,” assign one outside project of developing one new idea and presenting to senior management at the end of six months, individual access to Darren for “laser coaching” by request and probable participant interaction outside of scheduled group visits to complete outside project. $500/participant/month, six month minimum. 6-8 participants per group. Re-visit the newly constructed process after six months, make adjustments and install in the firm. If you want individual, formal, one-on-one executive coaching to be delivered concurrently to one or more of the group participants for added support, there would be an additional investment needed.
