Situation:

Adults learn most effectively through executive coaching, peer groups and practicing the new skill or behavior. Group Coaching combines the three to deliver the “highest-protein” professional development experience you will ever have.

Objective:

What if you wanted to raise the bar on a specific business development skill or behavior and you had access to an executive coach, a like-minded group of peers, best practices and a project to demonstrate your success? How valuable would that be?

The Business Development Leadership Groups deliver that value to you…

Method:

Through participation in this group, you have the opportunity to access an executive coach who specializes in business development. Darren helps you reach higher levels than you could alone. You also have a peer group to meet with twice per month for an hour on a facilitated teleforum. The group follows a specific agenda to:


    1. deliver just-in-time support on your challenges
    2. introduce best practices (both business development process and behavior)
    3. deliver access to subject matter experts and
    4. add a level of accountability to move you forward

Measurement:

A quantitative, 10 point scale assessment is used to score 12 different behavioral areas related to business development to chart your progress (before and after the program). Second, a qualitative "future pace letter" is used to shed light on what your objective looks like in behavioral terms to help you determine if the objective was reached. Third, a journal is used to capture experiences between teleforums to create a “3rd data point” to triangulate the value of the group for you.

A completed business development project to demonstrate your success.

RESULTS / VALUE:

Increased Sales - You will gain renewed energy and focus in regards to business development. Participation in this group experience delivers a rare opportunity to stop breathing your own exhaust and draw some fresh-air into your business development effort. Access to a Support Structure - Creation of a carefully matched network of cross-discipline, like-minded industry professionals. This network delivers resources and accountability to you long after the formal group ends.

Increased Chance of Success - You will increase your sense of confidence and control which will attract more clients and build the firm’s brand.

Why Does This Work? - It works because it is customized for what the participants want, it is an "active" process and there are deadlines. The participants don't want to "fail" the other participants in their group, their colleagues in their organization or the coach by not advancing on their objectives.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The financial investment is $400-500/month for six months. There will be 4-6 participants from non-competing firms in your group.
 
The time investment is:  
 
Two, scheduled, one-hour teleforums facilitated by Darren per month from January to June 2011.  
 
Unlimited “Laser Coaching” (15-20 minute coaching telephone calls with Darren around a specific objective) between teleforums.  
 
Up to three face to face forums with members of the Business Development Leadership Group between scheduled teleforums.

A completed business development project to demonstrate your success - Optional.
 
One, one-hour (face to face) visit six months after the group has formally ended to share successes of the past year and energize the efforts of the new year ahead – Optional.
