One of the simple, time-tested tools I use with individual and organizational clients to collect actionable feedback from family, business colleagues or stakeholder groups to improve quickly is a ‘Start, Stop, Continue’ tool.
The context IS you at your best. NOT the opinions of others or others projecting their issues on you, which happens with 360 feedback.
The twist is establishing YOUR OWN STANDARD. When you establish your standard, it’s going to be you at your best. Nobody does the opposite.
Your best as an individual is called your ‘identity’ and your best as an organization is called your ‘culture’. Give a copy of your identity or culture to those who care and are truth tellers and ask 3 questions:
1. What’s 1 thing I/we should start doing to better model my/our identity or culture?
2. What’s 1 thing I/we should stop doing to better model my/our identity or culture?
3. What’s 1 thing I/we do excellent to model my/our identity or culture?
Imagine the impact of making yourself vulnerable to others, especially with those where there is opportunity to improve the relationship…. A link to help you establish your standard is in the first comment below.
