I was in boot camp this morning and caught myself with my head down as I was gasping for air.

When we’re stressed, our guard drops and we reveal what’s really going-on emotionally inside of us. This happens when we’re angry, hurt, surprised and so on. If we can keep our head-up during these times, we pick-up a lot that we normally miss. What we notice about others in these situations helps else interact with them more effectively.

As I was leaving boot camp, I noticed a woman with her hands on her hips recovering from the hour-long class. I took the opportunity to smile, encourage her and humble myself a bit. It was appreciated and helped her become positive about what we just went through. I believe the odds of her returning next time are higher .
I was able to make a more of an impact because I kept my head-up and had more information to work with.
