I’m preparing to kick-off collaboration with a project team and one of the first few questions I will ask the team members is – ‘what is success on this project?’ They will say something like -‘finishing as quickly as possible and getting paid.’

The next question is ‘what does satisfaction look like?’ They might say – ‘people staying out of my way, people offering to help me or people asking for my input’.

Success = money

Satisfaction = respect

Money is only 50% of your ‘paycheck’. If we make an effort of the other half of the paycheck, the sky’s the limit with our team’s productivity.
