I know a business leader who was asked if he knew what was wrong with his organization and he gave a startling reply:
‘I am’.
It’s easier to influence others to work on themselves when you share the work you’ve done on yourself first, rather than being a hypocrite.
I think we can all agree, in business leadership, hypocrisy is widespread and rarely acknowledged.
For example, I’ve realized I can come across as judgmental, idealistic and I don’t naturally make an effort to connect with others first, before interacting.
I’m making a fierce transformation.
What if we started with ourselves and called-out our own hypocrisy as business leaders? Do you agree we’d build a stronger sense of community & authentic leadership in our organizations?
How long will you wait?
